Makeover of Niagara-on-the-Lake's Old Town entranceway delayed to start in 2023:Construction originally slated to start this September — issues arose with contractor's timeline and budget

The Queen and Mississauga entranceway project is being delayed by around six months or so, due to scheduling and budget issues with the contractor the town originally planned to hire.

A few kinks have come up in the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake's plans to start building its new gateway at the entrance of Old Town, pushing the construction start back from this September to 2023.

Indigenous leaders in North America, environmental and geographical experts, and volunteers are collaborating on the Biinaagami Project, a planned three-year initiative focusing on how to protect the five Great Lakes.

A portion of Glendale Avenue in Niagara-on-the-Lake will be closed starting the evening of Friday, Sept. 23, going to Sunday, Sept. 25, for work on a ramp part of the new Glendale traffic interface.

Traffic is set to close for three days on part of Glendale Avenue in Niagara-on-the-Lake for construction work on a new, permanent off-ramp, with plans for detouring traffic. This is part of the construction of a diverging diamond interchange in the Glendale area.

During the Scout Brigade of Fort George event, youth learned how to march, practised properly loading cap gun muskets, and participated in battles against other groups.

Youth from across the Niagara Region, Ontario, and from as far away as British Columbia travelled to Niagara-on-the-Lake to participate in the 39th annual Scout Brigade of Fort George event.

The team behind a new community plaza coming to Niagara-on-the-Lake is in the home stretch of their project: they hope to open the doors to this centre in an Old Town neighbourhood by Christmas, which will have local shops and a medical centre, including doctors and a LifeLabs.
