Job Responsibilities

  • Perform product handling of finished goods (biodiesel, glycerine's), raw material (soy or canola oil) and a variety of chemicals in an industrial work environment. The majority of product handling will be by way of tank rail car, tank truck, pallet, and totes.
  • Perform associated work as directed by work orders and/or supervision consistent with standard operating procedures, and provincial and local regulations in a safe and timely manner.

Specific Tasks

  • Transfer of finished goods, raw material and chemical products to and from various bulk containers _including rail cars and tank trucks.
  • Unload dry product as well as totes using a forklift or telehandler.
  • Shunting rail cars with heavy equipment.
  • Open and close valves, connect and disconnect hoses in order to allow for proper product transfer.
  • Perform daily walk-around inspections of the liquid handling equipment over entire facility.
  • Perform heating functions of required products in storage facilities and mode units as required. _Operation of an industrial boiler may be required.
  • Conduct spill clean-up operations as required.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is completed and returned to supervisor or order-fulfillment/logistics department.
  • Perform housekeeping responsibilities around operational activities, on the grounds and in the buildings.
  • Participate in company training programs and related testing.
  • Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives.
  • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards and procedures requirements.
  • Additional tasks as required by the business

 

Educational Requirements (minimal requirements and any additional education or training that would be helpful)

  • High-School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Trade school, formal training/significant work experience, or associates degree highly desirable. 
  • Familiar and knowledgeable in Transportation of Dangerous Goods  Forklift/telehandler/articulating Loader experience is an asset, but not required

Job Requirements (specific experience, skills, knowledge, certifications, licenses, competencies, working conditions)

  • Experience working in an industrial environment, specifically a loading/unloading terminal.
  • Experience with handling hazardous liquid chemicals.
  • Flexible schedule to work in a 6AM to 8PM operation, with availability for extra coverage for nights and late/early shipments.
  • The ability to work from written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor, adhere to required work _schedules, focus attention on details, follow work rules, as well as take on additional job _responsibilities as required.
  • Superior work ethic and dependability.
  • Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions as outside work is mandatory.
  • Physical requirements include, but may not be limited to, walking up and down stairs/ladders _including heights over 40 feet, negotiating uneven surfaces, and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear standard PPE (hard hat, goggles, rain gear, steel toe boots), and qualify to _wear a full face respirator.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company _and its insurers. Successful completion of a background check upon offer.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

• Safe efficient operation and maintenance of process equipment, steam generation, nitrogen generation, compressor systems, water treatment, service air and cooling water systems (chiller/cooling tower) and related equipment

Skills and Qualifications
• Working knowledge of preventative maintenance strategies, metrics and systems.
• Holding a current valid Ontario – Millwright Certificate, is a must.
• Team player with good communication skills and a high level of safety awareness.
• Candidate must be reliable, punctual and self- motivated with ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Candidate must have proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• 2-5 years’ experience managing and executing capital projects within a manufacturing facility.
• Strong leader with superior organization and execution experience.
• Ability to effectively plan and lead others in execution.
• High degree of functional knowledge displaying technical and mechanical aptitude
• Working knowledge of industrial controls systems

- Proven Management experience
• Experience with machinery condition monitoring, life assessment, and repair strategies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to concisely break down and complex issues and instructions
