• Niagara Region Gets Peachy

Peaches in NiagaraPeach lovers, get ready for one sweet weekend – The Peach Celebration and Peach Fuzzfest quickly near. As a key component of the region’s agricultural trade, residents and tourists are encouraged to attend the following harvest-related events this weekend:

    Peach Celebration

Music, food, demonstrations and displays – all things the Chamber of Commerce has planned for this event. Between King and Victoria on Queen, local vendors will setup and sell crops while mainstream acts such as the Toronto All Star Band, David Hoy, the St. Catharines Pipe Band, the Fort George Fife, Drum Corps, Ceol Cara and the Ben Show perform! In recognition of its 24th year, the Chamber of Commerce has upped the ante with additional activities. Participants may enjoy group salsa dancing lessons or dine at the Shades of Summer event. (If interested, you must reserve a table).

    Peach Fuzzfest

Over the same weekend as Niagara-on-the-Lake’s Peach Celebration, the orchard at 1425 Lakeshore Road invites guests to tour the property from 10am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday. The orchard spans 10 acres, giving visitors ample space to leisurely pick peaches and peacefully meander the grounds. In addition to the harvest, Peach Fuzzfest will also run seminars and host a variety of vendors with peach-related items on their menus. For every $5 basket of peaches sold at this event, Red Roof Retreat — an organization that runs recreational programs for children and young adults with special needs — will receive a portion of the proceeds.
