Golfing in Niagara RegionThe 2014 Regional Chair’s Charity Golf Tournament (August 21st, 2014)

Last year, the annual Niagara Regional Chair’s Charity Golf Tournament raised $1.2 million in support of local charities and organizations. Among those directly affected by the event include Community Care St. Catharines/Thorold, Pathstone Mental Health, Red Roof Retreat, Start Me Up Niagara, Niagara West YMCA, and the YWCA.

This summer, on August 21st, 2014, the tournament comes around once more. In light of last summer’s efforts and successes, the theme this year reinforces Niagara Region’s primary objective, “Building Communities…Building Lives.” All proceeds from this event will go towards the Port Colborne East Village Action Committee, Community Care St. Catharines/Thorold, Pathstone Mental Health, Heartland Forest, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and the Niagara Community Foundation – Environmental Initiatives.

The 2014 Niagara Golf Marathon (September 8th, 2014)

Nearing the fall, anticipate the return of the annual Niagara Golf Marathon. Like last year, this event aims “to raise health care above par” by encouraging donations and pledges both before and after the games. On September 8th, 36 golfers will walk onto the course and play 100 holes within 12 hours. Before the games, however, each player will need to have raised at least $2,500. Participating golfers will enjoy a complementary breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with an invitation to the evening’s rewards ceremony/reception. To continue fundraising, players also receive a “give page” online. To learn more, visit last year’s home page or watch the video!
