• Annual Tree of Lights Campaign in Fort Erie

Annual Tree of Lights Campaign in Fort ErieHelp make the Douglas Memorial Hospital’s holiday tree shine brightly this season by pledging support between November 15th, 2014 and January 15th, 2015. Do so in honour of a lost friend, family member or loved one and assist members of the auxiliary in fundraising for new chairs throughout the facility.

As an annual local drive, members of the auxiliary promise donors that all funds received will go directly to the cause: any external expenses generated by the campaign the Tuck Shop will cover. Auxiliary volunteers run both the Tuck Shop and H.E.L.P.P (Hospital Equipment Lottery Purchase Program): the former sells food, beverages and gifts; the latter runs a charity lottery on behalf of the hospital.

About the Douglas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary

In 2012, the Douglas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary celebrated its 80th anniversary, having now grown to 60 members who have collectively raised more than $1.3 million. Through annual drives and campaigns, members of the auxiliary have contributed loads of new equipment and furniture to the hospital, all “to bring comfort and hope to [those] who are in distress of mind or body.” In other words, the auxiliary exists solely to enhance the healthcare experience for those in the Fort Erie community.
